We also use cookies for marketing purposes to associate user activity with the third party website that referred the user to our site, or to associate user activity that LucidTalisman.com referred to a third party website, such as Facebook and Google.

We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 5 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.

We will also store comments or reviews, if you choose to leave them.

Comments and Reviews

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics, which collects the following sort of data: anonymous (ad serving domains, browser type, demographics, language settings, page views, time/date), and pseudonymous (IP address).

We also use Yoast SEO, which collects the following sort of data: anonymous (ad serving domains, browser type, demographics, language settings, page views, time/date), and pseudonymous (IP address).

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Who we share your data with

We don’t share your personal information with third parties. Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to help us improve the Website and service. We currently use Google Analytics (traffic analysis, SEO optimization), ConvertKit (mailing list management) and WooCommerce (ecommerce), as well as a payment processor, shipping software, and Facebook for marketing purposes. We listed below what data these third parties extract exactly. Feel free to check out their own Privacy Policies to find out more (linked below).

  • Google Analytics: anonymous (ad serving domains, browser type, demographics, language settings, page views, time/date), pseudonymous (IP address)
  • ConvertKit: name and email of our subscription list, Country of Origin
  • WooCommerce: name, email, address of buyers, as well as products sold and when. Note that we do not collect credit card information on this site! We never see it; it is processed by a secure payment gateway, Mijireh.
  • Our secure payment gateway (Mijireh) shares data with the payment provider to process payments:
  • Our payment processors, Stripe and PayPal,  store the following:
    • Name
    • Email
    • Address
    • Phone
    • City/State/Zip
    • Unique payment identifier
    • Payment provider identifier
  • Our shipping software (ShippingEasy) shares data with shipping providers to calculate shipping rates or print shipping labels.
  • Facebook: We use a pixel from Facebook which is a cookie that transmits IP addresses back to Facebook when users are also signed into Facebook. This allows us follow the actions of users after they are redirected to a provider’s website by clicking on a Facebook advertisement. If you are a Facebook user, then you have already agreed to this in the  Facebook Terms of Service.

More generally, We do not share personal information you have provided to us without your consent, unless:

  • doing so is appropriate to carry out your own request;
  • we believe it’s needed to enforce our Terms of Service, or that is legally required;
  • we believe it’s needed to detect, prevent or address fraud, security or technical issues;
  • otherwise protect our property, legal rights, or that of others.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Contact us to  make a request of this nature.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service, Askimat.

Additional information

How we protect your data

This site uses encrypted SSL security. This site does not store credit card information at any time. We can’t be hacked for your credit card numbers, because we never have them. We maintain the latest versions of software, update our database regularly, and will never sell your data to third party companies.

What data breach procedures we have in place

If our security software suggests we have had a data breach, our initial protocol is:

  • Changing all passwords.
  • Creating a fresh backup.
  • Identifying the hack and removing any malevolent code and means of access.
  • Contacting any supervisory authority required.
  • Contacting impacted customers.
  • Looking at preventative measures that will prevent the hack from happening again, and taking action.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

We do not engage in any profiling with user data beyond reaching out to past customers via email with information about new sales offers.
